Cutting out sugar for two weeks can significantly improve overall health, enhancing energy levels, reducing puffiness, and promoting clearer skin. According to Dr. Saurabh Sethi, eliminating sugar also aids in weight loss by decreasing belly fat and restoring a healthy gut microbiome.

Indulging in a dessert after dinner could be tempting, but have you ever thought of how it could affect your body? If you are thinking about quitting sugar but wondering if it’s worth it, look no further. Eliminating sugar from your diet for even two weeks may have significant benefits on your overall health. From boosting energy levels to improving skin health, quitting sugar could bring surprising changes. Dr. Saurabh Sethi MD MPH, a gastroenterologist talks about how going sugarless could result in significant improvement in your body.
“As a gastroenterologist and hepatologist, I’ve witnessed remarkable transformations in my patients after they remove sugar from their diets. Within just 14 days, their liver and gut health shows significant improvement. Tune in to discover the effects of cutting out sugar,” De Sethi said in his Instagram post.
According to the gut doctor, eliminating sugar for two weeks will bring your face to a natural shape. “If you cut out sugar for just two weeks, here is what you will notice. Your face will likely shift from looking rounder to a more natural shape,” the gastroenterologist says.
Cutting sugar for 14 days will also result in removing puffiness around your eyes. “Any puffiness or fluid retention around your eyes will also reduce.”
If you are on a weight loss journey, eliminating sugar can lead to miraculous results. For most people, though weight loss is achievable, they tend to struggle with stubborn belly fat. But a sugar cut could be just the right way forward. “You will also see a reduction in belly fat as the fat in your liver begins to decrease. Additionally, eliminating sugar leads to a healthier gut by restoring a healthy gut microbiome,” Dr Sethi reveals.
Eliminating sugar for 14 days is good news for those who struggle with acne and red spots on the face. This is because going off the sugar will help to improve your skin. “If you have acne or red spots, your skin should improve and look clearer,” he adds.
