Three suspects wanted in violent downtown Windsor home invasion

Windsor police are searching for three suspects accused of striking a man with a firearm before forcing their way into a downtown residence and making off with stolen possessions.
Officers responded Sunday, Jan. 12, shortly before 9 p.m. to reports of a break-in at a residence in the 1500 block of Bruce Avenue.
Police said that three suspects — two brandishing firearms — approached a man as he was walking toward the back door of his home.

It’s alleged that the suspects struck the man in the head with a firearm and pushed their way into the home, pocketing money and cellphones, before fleeing in a SUV-style vehicle.
The victim sustained minor injuries. Three children at home during the incident were not physically harmed.
Officers are asking the public to help identify the three suspects.
Police describe the first suspect as a black man with a large build. He was wearing a ski mask, green coat, and black pants at the time of the incident.
A second suspect is described as a white or mixed-ethnicity man who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
Police said the third suspect is a woman who was wearing a ski mask, a light grey hooded sweatshirt, and grey pants.

Police are asking residents and business owners in the area to check surveillance or dash cam footage, specifically between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, for any evidence that may assist with the investigation.
