As the second week of The Traitors comes to an end, the drama certainly isn’t. Fans couldn’t cope as they took to social media to discuss how stressful the latest plot twist is in the BBC show.

Once darkness fell on Ardross Castle, four faithfuls found out they would be taking part in a game called “death match”, with Claudia announcing that one faithful will be murdered at the end. The panicked faces on the faithfuls around the table became apparent when Claudia announced that no one is safe, and the traitors single-handedly picked them to participate.

Before the game started, Minah and Linda were tasked with writing down the names of the contestants they picked. Things soon got tense as innocent faithfuls could have walked into the room at any point.

Linda at the end had forgotten to place the quill back in the room, and had to carefully sneak back in without getting caught.

As the game started, Fozia picked up the “life” card, but chose to keep a poker face to avoid any suspicion, however, Anna chose to take that card off her in a surprise twist.

Fans headed over to X (formerly known as Twitter) to react to this new twist. @keirajaynee_ wrote: “I can’t cope with this it’s so stressful.” @benoxley13 added: “this is too tense for me.”

@slinehan1 praised the new idea: “This death match game is SO GOOD!! What a twist!!” with @dxvxntrealitytv echoing: “Omg this twist is amazing.”

After the game, faithfuls Anna and Alexander were the first to be saved from elimination. It was then between Fozia and Leon as the remaining two, with Claudia informing them that after tonight one of them will be dead. Viewers seem to have a favourite already, @quandromache penned: “QUEEN FOZIA BETTER NOT GO.”

Fozia, a 50-year-old community development manager previously shared: “It [The Traitors] was on my bucket list. I have been watching all the previous series, and it’s not like any other programme. There are other shows where the game is answering general knowledge questions, and then you win a prize.

“Whereas this one was more strategic, psychological, it’s twisted, and I love it. I used to get on the phone to my sister after watching and we’d chat all about it.100% loved it. Whoever was behind the concept and idea was bloody amazing!”

In this latest challenge, the faithfuls had to put their best poker face to the test, Fozia had admitted: “I’m going to have to probably work on my poker face a bit more. When I’m at work and focused, people are like “oh, she means business, we’ve got to get this done.” Friends and family also see me as someone who will take charge and I have good leadership skills. So, I don’t know if it’s a poker face, but it’s almost a don’t mess with Fozia face!”

Traitors is on at 9pm every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
