PGA Tour says Genesis Invitational will be relocated from L.A. due to wildfires

There will be no PGA Tour golf played at Riviera this year.
The Genesis Invitational, an annual tournament held at the famed Los Angeles-area course, will be relocated as a result of the recent wildfires, the PGA Tour announced on Thursday.
“The PGA Tour’s focus continues to be on the safety and well-being of those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster in Greater Los Angeles. We are grateful for the life-saving efforts of first responders and the tireless work being done to put an end to the tragic wildfires,” the league wrote in a press release.
A new venue for the Feb. 10-16 tournament will be announced in the coming days, the Tour said.
Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama won the 2024 edition of the tournament, which is hosted by Tiger Woods, after firing a Sunday 62.
The 2028 Olympic tournament and the 2031 U.S. Open are both set to take place at Riviera.
