Katy Perry’s U-turn on Meghan Markle from wedding dress dig to festive tradition
Following their highly publicised move to America, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have rubbed shoulders with celebrities and maintained some star-studded friendships.
This seemingly includes pop sensation Katy Perry who is currently engaged to British actor Orlando Bloom.
The two couples live in close proximity in Montecito, an exclusive California suburb where stars such as Oprah Winfrey and Ariana Grande also reside.
With the festive season finally here, the Firework singer opened up about her Christmas plans and shared a sweet tradition she implements with her four-year-old daughter, Daisy.
The singer confirmed: “We are going to be home in America and actually we are going to do something we do every year.
“We rent a trolley and we dress up, and there’s lights on the trolley, and we go to all of the neighbours in my home town and we see all of their lights.”
Katy added: “Sometimes there is hot cocoa and I’m dressed like The Grinch and it’s going to be super fun.
“We go caroling. We are going to go and knock on people’s doors and do some carols.”
Harry and Meghan will likely take part as they too will be spending Christmas in the US with their young children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet after not being invited to spend the festive period with the Royal Family.
Prince Harry previously revealed that he and Orlando often text each other about security and said: “We sort of keep in contact because of the paparazzi.
“He sent me a photograph which his security got of this long-haired guy with a beanie on, with his AirPods in, with his massive camera, lying in the back of his 4×4 truck, blacked-out windows.”
This is a huge U-Turn for Katy and her friendship with the Royals as she made brutal remarks about Meghan’s wedding dress in 2018.
While filming for American Idol, the performer shared her thoughts about the gown and told Entertainment Tonight: “I would have done one more fitting, I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you.”
Katy then compared Meghan’s to Princess Kate’s 2011 dress and added: “Kate, Kate, Kate won. Kate won!”
