The Eels and Rabbitohs have reportedly lodged applications with the NRL hoping to have the All Stars clash slash a game off Josh Addo-Carr and Latrell Mitchell’s suspensions.

That is according to Code Sports, who are reporting both clubs reportedly requested the permission from judiciary chair Geoff Bellew on Thursday.

If the request is approved, Mitchell’s one-game ban would be served and he’d be free to take the field against the Dolphins in Round 1.

Meanwhile, Addo-Carr could also make his debut against his former club the Bulldogs in Round 3, having three games currently left to serve on his suspension.

The winger was handed the ban after he returned two positive results to cocaine, with the first being a roadside drug test in September.

The incident occurred a week out from the Bulldogs’ first finals appearance in eight years, with Addo-Carr standing himself down in the days leading up to the clash.

He was suspended for four months by the NRL, whilst also copping a $15,000 fine.

Mitchell meanwhile, was handed his time on the sidelines after a photo was leaked of the gun fullback leaning over a white substance.

It looms likely the NRL will approve the club’s applications, with many players recently using rep games to serve bans.

Tigers gun Api Koroisau served two games via Fiji’s Pacific Championships fixtures, while Cameron Murray also served one in the PM’s XIII clash.

Storm enforcer Nelson Asofa-Solomona will also miss only a single game with New Zealand’s three Pacific Championships games also counting to his five-game stint on the sidelines.
